But still a long way to go.
I have just finished my second year of my MA degree (I am doing it part-time) and I am thinking about the future.
I went to a PHD info lecture and realised I wouldn’t be able to afford to do a PHD for at least another couple of years due to it costing £12000.
This means I have had to seriously consider what career I actually want to do, that will pay me enough to save at least £2000 a year.
The MA degree I am doing currently is in Fine Art, I am doing it because it is something I love, I am a multi-disciplinary artist; which is something I realise that I have not mentioned much on here.
I have realised in the last couple of years that doing or studying something you love is a privilege, and I am very grateful to the people in my life and the Gods that I am able to; but I have come to the conclusion that it isn’t enough.
After I finish my current MA I am going to do another MA but in Creative Writing; it is time I have decided to take my writing seriously. I also wish to go into publishing, especially into publishing artist books that this degree will help me with.
Becoming an ‘adult’ does not happen at a particular time, it comes when you suddenly have the experience to fear the future.
